The Justice and Peace Office exist to promote peaceful co-existence, respect for diversity and human rights. The Office is centered on the dignity of the human person and this involves advocating to build a common home for vulnerable and marginalized. It advocates for the rule of law and guidance for peaceful society based on the social teachings of the Catholic Church.
These projects and activities include:
- Educational opportunities and resources to promote a deeper understanding of and commitment to the Church’s social mission among the people we serve.
- Collaborative action to assist agencies and organizations to address concrete challenges in the areas of justice and peace and work on the promotion of structures that promote human dignity.
- JP coordinates the work of the commission and implement the programs by liaising with the Diocesan Justice and Peace Offices.
- It is responsible for implementing national programs and projects geared towards the respect, rights and promotion of the people.
- JP office organized trainings, research and advocacy for peace by employing tools and strategies for the implementation of specific programs.
- Within the JP office there is a wing for the Government affairs whose role is to act as an eye for the JP Commission and provide advise where necessary through advocacy.
